I'm working in Reigate at the moment and the other day spotted a poster for an exhibition of
John Spencer, artist/illustrator/printmaker. He was kind enough to talk me through his work and show me his amazing studio downstairs - where drawers of type (Plantin, Bembo, Perpetua and Gill) competed for space with woodblocks, presses and paper. His work ranges from one off lithographs, wood engravings, adventures in letterpress and whatever he might find lying in the street that has print potential! An inspiration. You can see more of his
work here.
