Poppies

Went for a walk out in the downs on Sunday - couldn't help noticing how many striking poppies were growing through the harvested fields. Beautiful.

Red rubber bands

Spotted today on the tube - a small child with a tricycle, with its handle bar pole completely covered in Royal Mail red rubber bands. I mean, a few hundred at least! What explanation for this could there possibly be? Is it a safety thing, a crazy collector thing or just a really nice way of tidying London's streets?

Credit crunch aesthetic?

Anyone else noticed the profusion of type-based ad campaigns recently? Riding through Earls Court the other night, all the billboards were plastered with Oxfam, Specsavers and DFS campaigns, all noted for the absence of any imagery.

Nordic nights

Saw the Kings of Convenience last night at the wonderful Bexhill de la Warr pavillion. The Norwegian duo played a great set with some new tunes and were star entertainers as well, with Erlend recounting hilarious tales of the frosty reception of customs officers at Dover. Warm up came from Swedish sisters Taxi Taxi.

Indian summer

Went on a gorgeous 21 miler yesterday into the hills - Cuckmere to Jevington and around to the Seven Sisters for a workout back to the car. Sun shone throughout despite the depths of autumn.

Green day

I recently made a short film as part of H&K's 'green day' - to enter www.1minutetosavetheworld.com competition. The film was made during the day of 22 September and premiered at the evening unplugged session at our bar. On the day, the company saved 17% of energy - a great result!
